To mark the United Arab Emirates’ 50th anniversary, the airline unveiled a special livery for its A380 and B777-300ER.
Emirates introduced a special livery to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the United Arab Emirates. This special livery will be exhibited on the Airbus A380 and the Boeing 777-300ER. The aircraft will be decorated with flocking bearing the phrase “United Arab Emirates 50” (The United Arab Emirates are 50 years old). The flocking glued to both sides of the hull is inscribed in Arabic and English.
The design of the number “50” on the aircraft features dynamic and graceful curves to illustrate the different historical eras of the United Arab Emirates. The continuous spirals and curves symbolize the vitality of the UAE and the many achievements of the country over the past fifty years, striving to push the boundaries of what is possible and guided by forward-thinking leadership. The official logo of the “Fiftieth Jubilee Year” encircles the “0” of the number “50”.
The first aircraft in the United Arab Emirates 50 anniversary design, the Airbus-registered A6-EVG, completed its maiden flight to Frankfurt earlier this week.
Over the next few months, more and more aircraft will be flying in the UAE Golden Jubilee livery. On average it takes a total of three days and up to fourteen technicians to install the flocking at Emirates Maintenance and Engineering Centre.
The fleet of aircraft in the colors of the United Arab Emirates’ 50th anniversary will serve all destinations in the Emirates network, including Paris, Los Angeles, London, Washington DC, New York, Munich and Zurich over the next few weeks to avoid the embassies to commemorate the UAE Golden Jubilee around the world.
Emirates President and CEO Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said: “The Golden Jubilee themed aircraft are inspired by the vision, determination, passion and incredible journey of the Founding Fathers of the United Arab Emirates over the past fifty years to shape a nation that has managed to capture the imagination of the entire world – by their rapid rise to become one of the most connected countries in the world, one of the few nations to launch a space mission, will be equally ambitious in building a sustainable future for the benefit of humanity. The United Arab Emirates will lead this race by improving their national gear, championing innovation and strengthening their position as a world leader and visionary in many fields.”
