In order to bring about this offer between Reunion Island and the United Arab Emirates, negotiations have been going on for several months, conducted with absolute discretion.
Alena Holidays, a subsidiary of Alena Groupe, and its Reunion boss, Rabin Apavou, are at the origin of this unique event for the territory. Twelve rotations between La Réunion and Abu Dhabi are planned as part of a travel offer including return flights, 6 overnight stays in one of the partner hotels, various activities and a ticket to the world exhibition “Expo 2020”. the first in 170 years to be held in a country in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia.
A tourism project that brings another great first for the Reunion territory, since it has partnered with the airline of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Etihad Airways, to offer a high-end service, summarizes Rabin Apavou, President of Alena Groupe, in comments from our colleagues at Eco Austral:
“This is the first time that a world exhibition has been held so close to La Réunion that we have had to take advantage of it. And I chose Etihad to offer our customers a very good standard onboard a Boeing 787 Dreamliner that we have chartered.”.
In total, more than 3,500 seats will be marketed under the offer, with a preferential fare for those under the age of 25. Although the starting price is €1,790, the tour operator offers the youngest a formula at €1,090, which can possibly be reduced to €590 through the intervention of the local authorities, to encourage the Reunionese to take advantage of the next World Fair on Reunion Island ever organized.
“We have deployed a team of 12 French-speaking staff to accompany our customers throughout their stay. A member of this team will be present at each of the selected hotels. The preferential offer for young people from Reunion is important to me because I encourage them to see what is happening in Dubai and at the World Expo.”.
The opportunity saw the light of day through the Alena Group, a multifaceted French company led by Reunionese Rabin Apavou. Founded in the early 2000s, the company operated as an asset management consultancy specializing in Reunion Island. The group now has several entities dedicated to investing with Alena Consulting, real estate with Alena Property and organizing high-end stays through its subsidiary Alena Holidays, well-known in the United Arab Emirates, where the entity moved its headquarters in 2020, under the Names A. World Events.
